The Tigers have failed to score in their last three matches, and have won just one of their last thirteen games. Discussing the disparities between Hull and other Premier League clubs, Brown told BBC Radio Humberside, "They are streetwise and we don´t know what it´s like to be streetwise in the Premier League. I think a year and a survival campaign will make us more streetwise." The Tigers enjoyed a strong start to the season but have recently seen their luck fade, with their last win back in early December against Middlesbrough. However, Brown believes his side have been unfairly underestimated from the outset. "I think a lot of teams in the first ten games paid us very little, if any, respect thinking we were going to be the whipping boys," he said. Even words of encouragement from former England international Phil Neville following their loss at Goodison Park on Saturday left the Tiger boss feeling riled. "Phil came off the park at the end of the game and shook my hand and said ´you´ve got a good team there.´ He also said ´there´s no chance of you going down with that team.´ "I don´t like that second comment and what we need to do is get back to our confident best and that´ll take time. "Once we get that win under our belt, hopefully at Newcastle on Wednesday, that´ll come." Hull face Newcastle on Wednesday for the FA Cup Third Round replay. Kick off is at 19:45. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
