Hull must forget Everton loss

I sat out the Cup game against Newcastle but hopefully the win will give us the confidence boost we need in the league. Paul McShane came back into the side and played alongside [Kamil] Zayatte who´s suspended for the Arsenal game so I think the gaffer was just trying to avoid any more injuries.

I travelled with the team and I thought the lads did really well. It was a scrappy game and the first goal was always going to decide it. Luckily for us we got it through Daniel Cousin. Now we´re in the fourth round and we´re up against Millwall. They´re having a decent season in League One and have a fair shot at promotion so it should be a good game.

We needed to get a win in any game that came our way. We´ve been in poor form in the league and the results have been bad. The cup win was our first victory since the start of December. It´s already made a difference in the camp. This morning at training everyone was a bit happier and hopefully we can keep it going against Arsenal. It would be great to beat them home and away, not many teams do that. Stoke showed against Liverpool that you can get points out of both games with the big four.

We lost 2-0 against Everton last week and it was a bit of a bruising encounter for me. If you saw the TV footage I got an elbow from [Marouane] Fellaini at a corner. He didn´t really catch me with that one but later in the game I got caught when I went up for a ball with [Victor] Anichebe.

I´ve been walking around all week with a big shiner. Everton are a tough side to play against. They´re very well organised and they tried to rough us up a little bit. We were just disappointed we didn´t create more against them

I´m sure the manager´s looking to add a few new faces to improve things. Kevin Kilbane´s just signed from Wigan and that will give us more competition for places. He´s also got loads of Premier League experience so that should help us.

One player we´ll have to do without is Dean Windass. He´s gone out on loan to Oldham. It´s sad to see him go but I think he´s just frustrated about not playing enough. He always wants to play and I´m sure he´ll do well in League One. He´s scored goals wherever he´s been and I can´t see that changing.
